Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German actress on television and film most well-known for her roles in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra was the sole daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. at the age of 16she already secured a number of TV roles which included the leading role in the film Downfall Youth without Youth Control. The role she played as Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudl Jue in Downfall (an Oscar-nominated wartime historical film) was critically as well as critically acclaimed commercially. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex as well as The Reader are also Oscar-nominated movies featuring this actress. Alexandra is known for her work in numerous noteworthy projects both domestically and internationally. Some of these include British biographical film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon and many more. In addition, she was an active member of jury for the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
