Aisling Bea

Aisling is a well-known Irish comedian that has been in the business for quite a while. She was born in Kildare, Ireland on 16th March 1984. She was featured on QI together as well as Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984) is better known by her stage name Aisling Bea, is an Irish actress writer and comedian. Bea started appearing as bit roles in Irish or British television programs in 2009, began her career as an stand-up comic in 2011. Bea began performing often on sketch comedy and sitcoms later in the year. After she received an award from the Edinburgh Comedy Awards (ECA) in 2012, she began appearing frequently in panel shows. In 2016, and in 2017, she was a team leader on 8 Out of 10 Cats. Also, she is a contestant of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Born in the family of Brian O'Sullivan, the actress was blessed with one sister called Sinead. In 2012 she was the only woman to receive the So You Think You Are Funny award. Bea, her maiden name, is a tribute to her father who passed away. Aisling Cliodhnadh is the daughter of a Kildare born woman. She was born the 16th of March, 1984. Bea's father Brian is an equine doctor who committed suicide when she was only three years old. Bea didn't learn how her father passed away until she was thirteen. She adopted the stage name Bea as a tribute to her father. She wrote an article for The Guardian in 2017 about the suicide of her family members. Bea as well as her sister Sinead were taken care of by their maternal grandmother Helen (nee Moloney) an elementary school teacher jockey trainer and an ex-professional jockey. The family was obsessed with race meetings as well as horses. Bea was initially tourist guides for the Irish National Stud. But she realized her passion was for performing and not racing.
